Critical Policy Issues

Western states face critical issues that impact our ability to govern and manage. The issues are not unique. Solving them is given our unique climate, geography, and history. Issues such as public lands, growth, tourism, water, the environment, and influencing the national political agenda are challenging on their own. When they interact – as they frequently do in the west – they create even more complex challenges.

The goal of WPRN is to promote discussion between researchers, practitioners, elected officials and policy makers in a thoughtful, interactive manner. By increasing the connections between the key players in the eight western states, more effective solutions can be developed.

Please join us in stimulating the discussion on critical issues, collaborating on research, and developing synergy around solutions. As a participant in WPRN, you can develop the agendas of the network with your colleagues.

Only with the knowledge and insights of a wide range of individuals can healthy discussions occur.
